Muntik ng maabot ang langit

the much awaited, Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai has finally opened on January 4, 2009. a 5-years in the making skyscraper that stands at 2,717 ft with 160 floors. ito na nga siguro ang tatalo sa Petronas Twin Towers ng Malaysia.

Gawa ito ng Samsung Engineering & Construction, na sya ring gumawa sa Petronas Twin towers. They reinforced full concrete and steel foundation at all parts of the tower. The pattern of this building is inspired from Islamic construction. This is also surrounded with Khalifa park and Dubai fountain created by WET Designs. Balita ko ginawa nilang lightning proof ang building na to.

Proud akong sabihin na may mga filipino engineers at chemists ang tumulong para maisakatuparan ang pinaka mataas na man made structure na to. Kelan kaya ako makakapasyal dito? =P

Blackberry Tour Face Off

An Introduction

the China W9630 is a replica of Blackberry Tour. Unlike the original, this replica has its white sleek version, that gives the buyer an option if they prefer white than the usual professional black. this is wireless LAN capable, supports bluetooth, supports Analog TV, FM Radio and have 2.0MP dual camera. this got 3D Gravity Sensor wherein you can change screen and songs, by flipping the phone. (this feature is common with china mobile phones) at a price of PHP6,000 in the market, this is a multi-purpose phone that satisfies the need of every consumer.

Blackberry Tour was released July 2009, that supports HSDPA 2100, its brillian clear display 2.4 inch screen whereu you can use QWERTY keyboard and Trackball navigation, also compatible with the 3.5mm audio jack, 3.2MP camera, supports GPS and BlackBerry Maps and talk time that can last up to 5 hours which i think is a superb feature. this is around PHP30,000-35,000 in the market, but who would not want to have Blackberry OS? =P

The Skirmish

We come up with these data so you can actually examine the original from the copy version. We are not discounting china mobile phones since they are indeed the best seller in the market, today. By making these comparisons you can decide on the suitable phone that best meet your needs.

1. BB Tour's upper right (beside the logo) is i believe some sort of a transmission light, however China W9630 is for the front camera, since its dual. Also at the left of the trackball, the BB tour shows blackberry logo, unlike china W9630 that shows Home key, though both are using sleek ergonomic QWERTY keyboard.

2. On the main screen, China W9630 will have a label "Edge" at the battery signal section, upper right. i havent researched though, if all china mobile got this. The main screen shortcuts are different. China W9630 got opera, facebook and yahoo messenger on it.

3. China W9630 has gravity enducer feature, where you can change songs and background just by flipping the phone.

4. BB tour is not WLAN Enabled, China W9630 is indeed supporting it.

5. HSDPA, GPS and Blackberry Maps are not found in China W9630. Analog TV, FM Radio and SMS MP3 tones are not found in BB tour.

6. Screen is wider for BB tour since it is 2.4 compared to 2.2 of china W9630.

7. BB tour supports microSD (TransFlash) up to 8GB, while china W9630 is only up to 4GB. BB tour internal mem is 256MB, compared to 82MB.

8. Unlike BB tour, china W9630 is dual sim. Price difference? well you can get 5-6 china mobile phones at one BB Tour.

9. China W9630 got Pitch Voice setting and comes with extra battery in the package. Both phones are using li-ion battery for longer power. In terms of battery life, depending on the usage but it seems that both phones are similar at this category.

10. China W9630 is dual camera with Flash, however BB Tour has geo tagging feature. Geo-tagging is a function, where GPS-enabled devices can insert metadata with geographical information (coordinates) into a file such as photo, associating it with the geographic location it was taken at. Both phones are using LED lights (Light-Emitting Diode)

Here you go, we hope you can decide on which phone you feel using, at this point we have not tested the longevity because its still depends on your usage. Price matters but remember to look for a gadget where you can maximize its features.

disturbia

i suffer from this intolerable colds, as i only have 3 hours of sleep and this is killing me. im now at the office, trying to be back at work, after we received a memo that all unscheduled leaves wont be exempted, and will be given a written warning. so lumalabas, kasalanan nameng magkasaket. im just waiting for the memo.

im feeling kinda melancholic today, now that i shared the video i created for someone who is about to resign. maybe its the melody or the theme kaya parang nakakalungkot, or dahil talagang malungkot pag may nawawala. sometimes im thinking that its not just about salary why people choose to stay in a company or organization, its about the people whom they share the same values, the people who sometimes know us well more than our family or other friends, its the people that we mostly spend time with, the people we look up to.

i thought that im terrible handling this goodbye stuff, but maybe i learned to manage it over the years. ive met a lot of people, and i treat most of them like mini-stations...not my main destination, but some place that i need to stop by and spend time with...and this is also the same reason why i fear not death, because death for me is part of the living process. strange but true.

For the past two weeks, ive been snooping for my next gadget, but there is always a reason for me not to acquire it. First off is our last weekend's gimik (and maybe the last that time that Richard will join us), where we watched Avatar in Imax. its cool that we waited for this movie to try out a 3d theater. actually somebody had given me a tip that the movie animation is spectacular that you wont appreciate it in a regular theater. hands off James Cameron for another movie of all time.

shakeys, before the movie starts.

Chard, wi-fi addictus!
another reason is this cough n cold, as i planned to go to the store this weekend, but this runny nose is stopping me in doing so. ohh well maybe its not my time yet to get a new gizmo. (why in a hurry?)

Because im updated with the latest episode of How I met your mother season 5, im diverting to another series while waiting for the next episode. Im taking "Chuck" as the next prospect. Chuck is a typical computer geek from Buy-more store who happens to be an "intersect" that knows government secrets, it was given to him by his college friend Bryce, who got killed from the pilot episode. i thought he is too good looking to die very early =P but story is backtracking somehow, so ill see more of him. Chuck with the images he got, becomes a secret agent and working with John Casey and Sarah. I like the build up in season 3, where Chuck is ready to become a real spy with the upgraded version of the intersect, now more than scanning images on his brain, he can perform skills like kung-fu, dancing even playing musical instruments, i thought this is awesome! its a mixture of romance, comedy and action wrapped in a suspense kinda thing...u gotta see it!

Side notes: alam mo ba and difference ng afflict at ng inflict?

Afflict is generally used with living beings; inflict is generally used with inanimate objects
* inflict takes 'on,' afflict takes 'with'

CyberWars

i have never been relaxed, not until i was tasked to process emails and not take calls. since then internet becomes my bestfriend and ive been a voracious gadget searcher.

i came across Kimstore an online gadget seller, whose account is being pestered by some sleazy online sellers, she particularly mentioned David B. (who?) whom i consider "gay" by not playing fair in an online industry. i myself is not an entrepreneur, but man, have some decency in knowing the boundaries of business strategems! alright, well then maybe we give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they do not have any tiniest idea on how vicious they are. consider this as business 101.

- respect yourself, competitors and your buyers. mind ur own business.

- a way to measure a seller is how good he/she can compete with himself/herself. stop being envious of others.

- there is no easy way up. u have to work hard for u to gain the trust of your customers. dont be a crabby by pulling others down.

there u go, we hope that these sellers stop bitching around and just get their balls rolling.

start the new year right

1. Boss told me that we'll have some additional recordings, other than "Yes sir" --- i did not say any trivial rhapsodies, which is something new for this year. He give me a lift by saying that 3 segments used the recordings i made...im not sure if i should be exhilarated by that, but i had that little smile inside, knowing that people would be hearing my voice. i wonder how i sounded over the phone...ohh well :P

2. Shure SE240 Earphone - A review

SHURE-SE420.jpg

This may be the smallest woofer currently out in the market. This is Shure's SE240 or TruAcoustic MicroSpeakers, with its sleek sound isolating design to block more than 90% of ambient noise and ensure a solid fit. See the detailed specifications:

    * Speaker type: Dual TruAcoustic MicroSpeakers (dedicated tweeter and woofer)
    * Frequency range: 20Hz-19,000Hz
    * Impedance (1kHz): 22 Ohms
    * Sensitivity (1mW): 109 dB SPL/mW
    * Cable length (with extension): 18.0 in./45.0 cm (54.0 in./137.1 cm)
    * Weight: 1.04 oz./29.5 g

This is about $250 or PHP10,000, so if you would like to experience high-quality recordings and lossless formats, have this gadget. Pricey at it may seem but its audio system justify it. My take on this? I wont buy this, impressive specs indeed, however I can simply get sennheiser plus Fiio E3 amplifier, that will probably cost me just around PHP1,500-2,000K, with a pretty decent acoustic experience.

3. The eyes of resiliency.

yan ang pinoy, happy pa rin ang new year!
