awesome

It feels like Jason Mraz music makes me feel relax or put me to sleep. This dude got talent and passion for singing. I enjoyed his rendition of Summer Breeze which is an old song from 70s, and the way he owns the song, soo awesome. Even his geek in the pink, makes me smile...i like the part when he sang "I dont care what u think about me..."

Another awesome person is Brillante Mendoza, a director of Indie movies who has been recognized as the Best Director from Cannes filmfest award. people all over the world are recognizing his craft in creating realistic movies. some says that he is creating a lot of morbid movies, i dont mind it, cuz the creations are just mirroring whats happening to the world. im trying to figure out how can i see his other movies...

another awesome thingy im into is involving myself to the world of Ethical Hacking. i know that the term seems oxymoron to you, because when we think about hacking, we always associate it with the "bad stuff" the module im seeing right now, makes me turn my head regarding this hacking concept. the only way to know how a car works, is when u get ur hand dirty...meaning, dealt with the machines, being familiar with all the mechanism and most importantly being able to make a car up and running again. similar to the concept in ethical hacking, knowing how a hacker process thoughts, what they can and they cannot do, will give u a better concept on how to protect your computers, your network.

i find this slogan, quote, whatever u call it, something to think about, and for me to have a better understanding of my potential opponents, i should watch every move they do...hacking is indeed a mind game, like playing chess, u will never know when is the next attack...but u can prevent it to happen...there is a way to be prepared.

being a security engineer, 10 years ago, i never thought that ill be hooked into computers...because 10 years ago, with the release of Pentium I and II, (which we never got one way back then) i thought i wont be interested in a fast paced world like cyber technology...but i am now, im interested with virus removal, security and network protection. who would ever thought ill be working in this environment?? ohh well, maybe im just having fun. :D

the celebrity apprentice

Saturday. I had a full run of the apprentice celebrity edition, and like any other good books, love finishing it at one sitting. The apprentice is the ultimate sixteen-week job interview, where 14 or the famous and prominent celebrities use their business intelligence in order to show Donald Trump that they are the best and representing a charity of their choice, wherein the winning project manager, get a chance to donate special contributions. Participants are Carol Alt, Gene Simmons, Jennie Finch, Lennox Lewis, Marilu Henner, Nadia Comaneci, Nely Galan, Piers Morgan, Stephen Baldwin, Tito Ortiz and who will miss Omarosa. Trump is wise in putting Omarosa in putting spark between the candidates. As always,im impressed how Donald pushed them up to their limit and fired them one by one.

The finale is between Trace, a country recording artist and Piers, a British host of the Americas got talent. Piers  take the celebrity apprentice title as he consistently prove that he may be the darkhorse of this game, but he is the king of genearating money when it comes to auction. also on this season, we are more likely to see the presence of ivanka and donald jr, than the accustomed carole and george :D i think donald is passing on his legacy to his kids.

Here are the things i learn from that season in terms of negotiation:

1. Be patient. Sometimes you have to wait weeks, months or even years to get the agreement you want. So take the long view.
2. Remember, you can’t overpower the other side by talking loud or fast. Every negotiation requires a different approach. If you are in doubt about how to behave, listen well and show respect.
3. Aim for win/win outcomes, like all the books on negotiating say. But don’t forget that you sometimes get to win more than the other side.
4. Only negotiate with people who have the power to come to an agreement with you on behalf of their  organizations.
5. Learn something new every day. You never know when a piece of information will transfer into a powerful advantage when you are negotiating.
6. Be willing to walk out. It will often move you towards your goals more quickly than agreeing to the wrong terms.
7. Put a dollar value on your objective - the most you will pay, or the least you will accept. Your opponent will sense when negotiations are nearing that line and will back off.
8. Understand what the other side really wants. (If you don’t know that that is, ask.) If you can’t offer it, negotiations are going to be harder - but not necessarily impossible. At least you will know what you are up against.
9. Identify bargaining chips that you will be willing to give away. Example: You might be willing put a new roof on a property that you are trying to sell.  But guard your chips closely and don’t offer them unless you have to.
10. Know the most important thing you want to gain from negotiations, but don’t reveal it too early. Once all the other issues are on the table, you will have a better chance of getting it.
11. When negotiations stall, ask “What would it take for us to come to an agreement about this today?” If you cannot offer what the other side asks for, call off negotiations temporarily to give the other side time to rethink its position.
12. Don’t hold grudges or badmouth the other side if you are unable to come to agreement. Today’s opponents can be tomorrow’s allies.

I should now look forward to the season 2 of the celebrity edition of the apprentice..

The Uninvited

sisters_800.jpg
i was able to watch, The Uninvited, which stars Emily Browning (Anna), Elizabeth Banks (Rachel, 2nd mother),  David Strathairn (Father) and Arielle Kebbel (Alex, sister of Anna). This is based on a Korean horror film, “Changhwa, Hongryon,” “The Uninvited” revolves around Anna
who returns home after spending time in the hospital recorvering from a tragic death or her mother. Her dad become engaged with the mom's nurse, Rachel. Anna is seeing the ghosts of her mom and other 3 little kids. She is trying to know who really Rachel is and believe that the latter has something to do with the death of her mom. Alex and Anna try to convince their father that his current fiancée is not who she pretends to be.

the movie is a typical horror suspense psychological that revolves around characters and the ending will reveal how these characters relate to each other. it reminded me of the movie, Identity that stars John Cussack and how he formed the story on his mind. overall, ill give this movie a 3.5 out of 5, nice movie to watch most especially that rainy season is about to begin. :D
